As a teenager with a new saxophone, Charlie played in a high-school swing band and also organized his own big band.  When he moved to California, he was one of the original organizers and bandleader of the The Big Band Commotion, an 18-piece swing dance band based in Orange County during the late 1970’s and early 80’s. He went on to organize The Charlie Staump Big Band that presented shows that featured guest artist such as Tex Beneke, Charlie Ventura, Marrianne Dunn and Jack Sheldon.  CDs are available for purchase at the store.
